Neutron Drive is a cloud-based code editor, easily works and integrates with Google Drive, has got few updates here. Before getting started exploring its updates, let’s take a look what Neutron Drive does exactly for its users. As we discussed earlier, it is possible to carry your coding stuff easily after integrating Neutron with your Google Drive.
The biggest recent change we noticed is that ,Neutron Drive is no longer available for free. However, everyone who accessed Neutron Drive before today will receive a free year of service. The new price for Neutron Drive will be $3.99 per year. Without any further changes, developer assured to bring some great features that will make Neutron Drive a fabulous everyday code editor in future.
"In addition to winning the contest though, I received great feedback from the users and Google staff. And while I started Neutron Drive as something fun and not necessarily something completely useful, I can see a great future for Neutron Drive. So my utmost goal is to make sure Neutron Drive development continues. I've had many pet projects before that eventually die off because I can't devote enough time to them. The main reason for this is they produced no money to hold interest in the long term. And while the Apps Contest was a great kickstart, I want see Neutron Drive continue for a long time," - Paul Bailey said in the blog post.
Neutron Drive will no longer “open-source”:
Another big change to Neutron Drive is that, it will no longer available as open-source project. According to its developer, the original code was open source and hosted on Githubm but now it will no longer accessible to anyone. It is all due to its future upgrades, development and legal obligations. He said:

"I can no longer share the Neutron Drive source code. The original code was open source and hosted on Github. Because of future features in development and legal obligations, I can't open source the current code. I took a snapshot of the code before this work started, and you can download the last open sourced code from Google Drive. Eventually, I may be able to open source the code again, so stay tuned. At the very least I'd like to make some open source libraries that should be really cool,”
